YUBA CITY, CALIFORNIA: The Yuba City Bears have finished their inaugural season at Colusa Casino Stadium. “We introduced ‘The Awakening’ of the Bears earlier this year and they have just ended their first season” says VP/GM Michael Mink, “I’m extremely proud of this team and all they’ve accomplished this season with such a late start.”

The Bears played a total of sixty games with the Great West League this season; thirty home and thirty away. Almost eighteen thousand fans packed into Colusa Casino Stadium to watch the Bears play for the first time in sixty-eight years. “Our fans were amazing this year and we’re looking forward to growing the fanbase in the years to come” says Mink.
“Our fans’ active participation and dedication to the team and players is what baseball is about” says Mink. We want to thank all of our dedicated fans for embarking on this journey with us on our first season. We hope to see you all in the many seasons to come with the Yuba City Bears.
The Great West League is one of the premier summer collegiate wood bat leagues in North America, providing a professional, minor league baseball atmosphere for top college players seeking professional baseball careers, while providing affordable family entertainment and enriching the quality of life in its member communities.
